We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

We’d like to take a second to go over practice during the holiday break and our first tournament coming up.

1. Practice over the Holiday Break.

First of all, no practice TODAY, Tuesday, December 26th. We’re sure most of us are still recovering from the holiday weekend. Enjoy your new gifts!

We will have practice this Thursday, December 28th as normal. 6:00pm-6:45pm for PreK – 2nd and 7:00pm-8:30pm for 3rd – 8th.

The following week, there will be NO PRACTICE on Monday, Jan 1st for New Year’s Day. We will have practice Tuesday, Jan 2nd. We’re going to treat that Tuesday like a Monday practice. Meaning that practice is for ALL kids, not just the older ones. 6:00pm-6:45pm for the younger ones and 7:00pm-8:30pm for the older ones. Thursday, Jan 4th will be a normal Thursday practice, going back to our regular schedule.

2. Our First Tournament

Here’s what a lot of you have been waiting for! Our first official tournament is coming up Sunday, Jan 7th. It will be Bryan High School (4700 Giles Road) in Omaha, NE. I’m including a flyer in the email being sent out.

We are still in the process of finalizing our full wrestling tournament schedule for the year, we know a lot of you have been asking. Best bet right now is to block off every Sunday through beginning of March. We will be having a tournament for sure, it’s just the when and where of that day.

**IMPORTANT**
This is how registering your kids for a tournament is going to work.

1. On Monday’s practice you will register your kids for that upcoming weekends tournament. We will email these out before hand and have paper copies available at practice. These must be filled out and turned back in THAT DAY. All wrestlers will be registered that Monday night. It needs to be done that early now to guarantee our spots in that tournament, they do fill up fast. (For our first tournament, this will all be done on Tuesday instead since there’s no practice on Monday, Jan 1st.)
2. The registration form has information that is vital to us to register your kid correctly. Please fill out all fields. We need your wrestler’s name, age, grade, and date of birth.
You also need to mark your kid as novice or open.
Novice – 2 years and under experience or over 2 years with under .500 record.
Open – Over 2 years experience.
3. On Thursday’s practice we will weigh in every kid that registered for that upcoming weekends tournament before/during/after practice. It doesn’t matter when as long as you get weighed in THAT NIGHT. Parts 1 and 2 both need to be done to complete your registration.

This means it is very important to be attending your practices. First, to get registered properly. Second, to put the work in to have more success at these tournaments!

Remember, we register the kids on your behalf. Parents do not have to register their own kids to these tournaments. This is one of the biggest benefits of our club. The trade off is we will be requiring your help for our tournament on Sunday, Feb 18th.

We understand that things come up and there may be a week where a day is missed for a school activity or something. In that case, please communicate with us through Facebook/Email or just talk with the coaches.

Any questions let us know.
