Holiday Break is coming up and we have A LOT of info to share. Please read through everything here.
- Holiday Break Schedule
This week we will only be practicing Monday, Dec 15th and Tuesday, Dec 16th during our regular times. There will not be practice Thursday, Dec 18th as we start our Winter Break. We will continue to have no practice until it starts again on Monday, Jan 5th. We hope everyone enjoys the holidays!
- Fundraiser Pickup
In lieu of our Thursday practice this week we will instead be doing our Fundraiser pick up. This Thursday, Dec 18th we need everyone to come to Levanders Body Shop (1426 E 29th St — Down the street behind Taco Bell) starting at 6:30 pm. We will have people there with your organized orders to get everything handed out.
- Picture Orders
Thanks everyone for being there Tuesday for our Picture Day! It was a little chaotic but we managed to get 120 kids done in just under 2 hours. That’s 1 kid every minute! In regards to your order you should have got a text or email already to get this taken care of. If you haven’t, please reach directly out to the photographer at cory@coryloomis.com.
- Tourney Schedule
We have attached our Tournament Schedule for 2026 but it can also be found here:
https://fremontwrestlingclub.org/tournament-schedule-2026/
You’ll notice 2 tournaments per weekend up until our tournament. With as many kids as we have in the club, we want to avoid overloading any tournament we go to and wrestling our own kids. To accomplish this, the coaches are putting in a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure we have coverage at 2 tournaments per weekend. We will recommend tournaments based off age and skill level but the plan right now is to let everyone decide which one they want to go to.
How the process will normally work is the Monday emails that go out will have a link to fill out a form to go to that tournament. Once that is done, we register kids on our side and take care of all the administrative side of things. This needs to be done asap. If you wait until Thursday to fill out the form, chances are we may not get your kid into the tournament.
- Preseason Tourney – Little Jays
Our first tournament will be a preseason tournament. It will the Little Jays Tournament at Creighton Prep. Traditionally, we offer one preseason tournament every year. This tournament is reserved for our more experienced kids that have 3 years or more of club experience under their belt. Look for the registration form link on next Monday’s email. Remember to fill them out right away otherwise we can’t guarantee they won’t fill up.
- Battle of the Belt
We’re trying something different this year and would like to gauge parent interest before confirming.
Our thoughts right now is to offer some of our more experienced and competitive wrestlers an opportunity to do the Battle of the Belt Tournament which is a very tough National Tournament that is in Mulvane, Kansas. Here’s the most important details of this tournament:
a) It is a real tough tournament. Not suggested for anyone new or anyone that hasn’t qualified for a state tournament before.
b) The tournament is Feb 6-7. This will require having Friday and Saturday free for this tournament, and most likely Sunday as well.
c) This tournament is a 5 hour drive away. We mentioned Sunday as well because if you wrestle late into Saturday by the time you get out of the tournament you’ll want to stay another night vs driving home 5 hours and getting back after midnight.
d) We will pay for the wrestler’s registration cost. Transportation, Hotel, and all other costs associated with this tournament will be on the parents.
If after all that you are still interested fill out this form and let us know:

- D5 Wrestle Offs – Info
One final opportunity to get out there which is not directly club related is the District 5 Dual Team.
For those that are new, Nebraska is broken up into 8 districts for our wrestling districts and state. Each year a dual team is made of kids from each district and put together to dual the other districts across the state. District 5 will be doing a District 5 Dual Team Wrestle Off to determine what kids will make that team. Here’s the most important details of this:
a) The wrestle offs will be Wednesday, Jan 7th at 6:00 pm at Fremont High School
b) It will be a single elimination tournament to determine the best wrestlers for each weight class
c) Boys weight classes- 65, 72, 79, 86, 93,100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 170, 195, 250. (14 weights)
Girls weight classes- 55, 63, 71, 79, 87, 95, 105, 115, 125, 140, 175. (11 weights)
d) There is no set age/grade division. So if you’re wrestling Boys 120lb for example, you could be a 2nd grader all the way to an 8th grader.
e) By making this team you are committing to wrestling in the Regional District Duals. This is currently planned for a Friday in late Jan. As of right now the official date/time/location is still being worked out.
Are you interested? Then click on the following link to register your wrestler:

Registration will be open all the way up until wrestle offs happen.
Thanks everyone, we know this was a lot.
