2.  Recap of Registration Night

We know there was a lot of info communicated in a short time.  We’d like to recap just some of the most important parts for people.

a) Important Dates

-Fundraiser
Turn in on Dec 1st
Delivery on Dec 18th

-Raffle Tickets
These will be handed out starting in December.
Final turn in will be right before our tournament in February.

-Singlet Check Out

No practice this night.  Just everyone coming in looking their best for their picture.

-Fremont Wrestling Club Tournament
Feb 14-15
If you haven’t already, MAKE SURE SUNDAY, FEB 15th IS FREE!  We could use some help Sat night, Feb 14th also.  This is the tournament we needed all parents to volunteer at so our tournament runs successfully.  We also have each wrestler bring a small donation item to the tournament too.  There is a special thank you in store for everyone that helps that day!

-District 5 Tournament
March 7-8
This begins the end of the year.  Again, we could use help Saturday night to set up for Sunday’s tournament.  We do need a lot of volunteer’s for this day as well.

-Huskerland Duals (Kearney)
March 14-15
Fun opportunity for additional wrestling at the end of the year wrestling as part of a dual team.

-NEUSAW State (Grand Island)
March 21-22
If you qualify at districts, you get to wrestle the best of the best at state.

b) Practice Schedule

Practice is set to begin NEXT WEEK, starting on Monday, November 3rd.

Kids that are PreK – 2nd grade are our “Younger Kids”, they practice:
Monday @ 6:00 – 6:45 PM
Thursday @ 6:00 – 6:45 PM
All practices are at Fremont High School (Enter through CTE)

Kids that are 3rd grade – 8th grade are our “Older Kids”, they practice:
Monday @ 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Tuesday @ 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Thursday @ 7:00 – 8:30 PM
All practices are at Fremont High School (Enter through CTE)

As for practices, wrestling shoes are recommended, but not required.  If you know your kid’s shoe size you can find a good pair online for pretty cheap.  Other than that, have them in shorts and a shirt.  Be sure to bring a water bottle too!  As the weather gets colder, make sure they can change in/out of some warmer clothes for the short time they’ll be outside during drop off and pick up.

We do follow the Fremont Public Schools schedule.  So if they cancel school due to weather, we will cancel practice as well.  That means times like Christmas break means we are also off.  We will do a good job communicating these days with you beforehand so you know.

c) Tournament Schedule

Our official tournament season begins in January.  Every Sunday we’ll have a tournament (usually not more than an hour drive at most) to a different destination to put our skills to the test!  We’ll have official tournament sign up registration links sent out Monday of that week (For that Sunday’s tournament).  You will need to fill those out ASAP as they do fill up fast and if we don’t register by Monday, we may not be able to get your kid in at all.

If you do register your kid, we pay for their fee to enter the tournament.  We understand that sometimes plans change or kids get sick.  If that unfortunate case happens let us know so that we can prepare for it ourselves and also let the tournament director know as well.  If we are unable to secure a refund we do ask that parent’s repay the Fremont Wrestling Club for the cost of their child’s registration (Usually $25).

As the season gets closer we will put out an official tournament schedule so you can have an idea of where we are going and when.  Also be on the lookout for Dual Team sign ups.  More info on that to come.
