We apologize for the delay but we finally got an update for everyone. Please read this in its entirety to avoid potential confusion about practice times and locations.
1. Practice Starting!
This is the big one. We had some logistics to work out on the back end but now that we got that hurdle cleared we can get started!
Practice is set to begin MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11th. That is NEXT MONDAY, NEXT WEEK!
First, practice will be at LENIHAN BUILDING (10th AND BROAD) until the Wrestling Room at Fremont High School is complete. For those of you that wrestled last year, you know exactly where this is. For everyone new this year, it is the Fremont Learning Center, The Sensory Courtyard. You can enter via Broad St and use the parking lot to enter the gym at the Lenihan Building.
For the first week of practice, there will be sign in sheets for your wrestler. This verifies that every kid that comes in is officially registered. If you need to pay your registration fee or singlet deposit please plan on getting it done when you come to practice as well.
Practice DATES & TIMES below along with info about our Groups.
Black Group/Room – These are all of our Preschool – 2nd Grade wrestlers. These are going to be our younger, more inexperienced wrestlers. Focus is more on the fundamentals of wrestling. They practice on the following:
Mondays – 6:00 – 6:45
Thursdays – 6:00 – 6:45
Silver Room – These are going to be our 3rd Grade – 8th Grade wrestlers. A little more older, experienced kids that will go over more concepts of wrestling. Every older kid will start in the Silver Group.
Gold Room – This group is for our more serious, hardcore wrestlers. Gold Room wrestlers MUST test out of Silver in order to make Gold. These tests verify a deep understanding of wrestling concepts. These practices are less supervised and wrestlers are expected to be self motivated and ready for tough practices. Poor conduct at practice could get you demoted back into Silver.
Silver and Gold Rooms practice times are:
Mondays – 7:00 – 8:30
Tuesdays – 6:30 – 8:00
Thursdays – 7:00 – 8:30
2. Fundraiser
I have emailed everyone that signed up a pdf with our fundraiser information. If you need any additional information regarding this please reach out to us.
We understand that between depending on how many kids you have and how many activities/clubs you’re in that there’s a lot of fundraisers. This specific fundraiser for the Wrestling Club is a HUGE one this year as we are getting new singlets for the entire club. Girls will have their own singlet design which will also fit better than the singlets we had. Boys are also getting new singlets as to provide uniformity across the club.
To help off set this cost we are running this fundraiser this year. The more you can reach out to sell or even purchase yourself the more help it will provide our club to continue to keep our costs down and make our club accessible to everyone in the area that wants to wrestle.
As a motivator the top seller of this fundraiser gets $0.50 back per box sold!
