Hi All –

First, we would like to thank everyone who attended our registration night on October 22! It was great to see so many familiar faces returning, along with several new families joining our program. We are excited for another great season!
There is a considerable amount of information below. While it is a lengthy read, it contains important details that everyone should review thoroughly to stay informed!

Wrestler Sign Up

  • Do you still know someone that needs to sign up? Please have them use the attached QR code & sign up ASAP. Thanks!

Registration Fees

  • If you missed registration night, or if you attended registration night but have not yet paid, please see one of the board members during the first week of practice to submit your payment for the season. The registration fee is $100 for the first wrestler and $75 for each additional wrestler within the immediate family. We accept cash or check payments only.

Candle Fundraiser

  • We did a new fundraiser this year – candles!! Perfect for Christmas gifts and are a wonderful way to support our wrestling program. If you attended registration night, you should have received the fundraiser packet. If you did not receive one, please send us a Facebook message or e-mail, and we will do our best to get a packet to you this week.
  • Fundraiser packets & money are due at FIRST practice – Monday, November 9th.
  • We expect to receive the candle orders during the first week of December. Once the orders arrive, we will send out additional information regarding pickup date & time.

Singlet Check-Out

  • If you did not purchase a singlet through our storefront this year, you will need to rent one from the club. The rental fee is $75, which serves as a deposit and will be fully refunded at the end of the season during our banquet, once the singlet is returned back.
  • Singlet check-out will be: Nov. 16th, Nov. 23rd, or Nov. 30th. To receive a singlet, the $75 deposit must be paid at the time of checkout. Please bring a check with you on one of the dates listed above.

Picture Night

  • Tuesday, December 1st will be our club picture night. There will be no practice that evening. Instead, all wrestlers should arrive dressed in their singlets, looking their best! Additional information regarding picture times will be sent out at a later date.

Practice Schedule & Details

  • First Day: Monday, November 9th (FPS does not have school but we have been approved to start practice this day)
  • All practices are held at Fremont High School – Enter through the CTE center (same as registration night).
  • Kids Pre-K through 2nd Grade will practice Mondays 6pm – 6:45pm & then Thursdays 6pm – 6:45pm.
  • Kids 3rd Grade through 8th grade will practice Mondays 7pm – 8:30pm, Tuesdays 6:30pm – 8pm & then Thursdays 7pm – 8:30pm.
  • Wrestling shoes are strongly encouraged but not required. If you know your child’s shoe size, you can typically find a cheaper pair of wrestling shoes online.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing attire – shorts, shirts, sports bras (for girls), etc. As the weather gets colder, please make sure they have something they can change in/out of quickly.
  • Bring a water bottle to every practice!! While there is a water fountain in the hallway, we try to avoid roaming out in the hallway to be respectful of the high school. Please make sure your child tries to bring a water bottle to every practice.
  • Practices start promptly on time – please give yourself enough time to get wrestling shoes on & ready!
  • We do follow the FPS schedule. If they cancel school due to weather, our practice would also be cancelled. We do a great job of communicating this beforehand so you are aware.

Fremont Wrestling Club Tournament

  • February 20th & 21st
  • If you haven’t already, please make sure Sunday, February 21st is FREE all day! We could also use some help Saturday, February 20th. This is the tournament we need all parents to volunteer at so our tournament runs successfully. We will never ask you to volunteer while your child wrestles.
  • We will also have each wrestler bring a small donation item to the tournament as well. More information to come about this as it gets closer.

Raffle Tickets

  • They will be handled out starting the end of November/beginning of December.
  • They will need to be turned in right before our tournament in February. Each wrestler is required to sell at least $40 worth of raffle tickets. More information to come about this as it gets closer.

Tournament Schedule

  • Our official tournament season begins in January. Every Sunday until March, we’ll have a tournament to a different destination to put your wrestlers skills to the test! It is usually not more than an hour drive, at most.
  • We’ll have our official tournament sign up registration links sent out every Monday of that week (for Sunday’s tournament). You will need to fill those out ASAP, ideally by Monday evening. Each tournament does fill up fast & if not registered Monday, we cannot guarantee your kid will be able to wrestle Sunday, if full. If that does happen where you registered too late, you will receive a message from us.
  • FWC pays for every kid, if you sign them up for the tournament that weekend. We understand that plans can change or your child can get sick. If something unfortunate like that does happen to where your child cannot wrestle that Sunday & you had originally signed them up, please send us a message ASAP so we can let the tournament director know as well. If we are unable to secure a refund, we do ask that you repay the FWC for the cost of your wrestler’s registration. Typically, most tournaments are around $25-$30.
  • We will have the tournament schedule out within the next month so everyone can plan and have an idea of where we are going & when. Be on the lookout for that!

District 5 Tournament

  • March 6th & 7th
  • This is held at Fremont High School. Again, we could use help Saturday afternoon/evening to set up for Sunday’s tournament. Along with that, we do ask for volunteers on Sunday, March 7th as well.
  • This will be at the end of the year tournament where you try to punch your ticket to state. More information & details to come as this gets closer.

Huskerland Duals (Kearney)

  • March 13th & 14th
  • Fun opportunity for additional wrestling at the end of the year wrestling as part of our dual team.
  • More information & details to come as this gets closer.

NEUSAW State (Grand Island)

  • March 20th & 21st
  • If you wrestle & qualify at districts, you get to wrestle the best of the best at state!
  • More information & details to come as this gets closer.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to another season!

Thank you!!
