I know there’s A LOT here but please read through everything as there is a LOT of information everyone needs to know.
- Potential last week of season
As we approach the end of our season, for some of us this may be the final week. The season and practices will continue next week for wrestlers who meet the following criteria:
-Qualify for NEUSAW State (Top 4 Districts and plan to go to NEUSAW State in Grand Island)
-Wrestle as a Prek – K at Districts (And plan to go to NEUSAW State in Grand Island)
-Wrestle as a girl at Districts (And plan to go to NEUSAW State in Grand Island)
-Are wrestling at AAU State or part of our Huskerland Dual Girls or Boys 3rd-5th Team
-Are a practice partner for anyone who did qualify for any of the above
If not, it was great having you this season! Be sure to keep checking your email and our Facebook as we do have an Awards Banquet that we’ll do to celebrate our season in the April time.
- Logan view
Our club tournament this week is Logan view. This is actually a Friday night tournament. You need to be there no later than 4:30 for weigh ins and wrestling starts at 5:30. They don’t do a 7th and 8th grade division, so it is only available for our PreK through 6th graders. They are capped at 300 wrestlers. We do registrations Monday night so anything submitted after that we can’t guarantee you’ll get a spot.

- District 5 Tournament
Our District 5 Tournament this year is going to be Sunday, March 2nd. For those of you that are new to the club this tournament is different than all the other tournaments we’ve done. Here are the main points we want to get across:
a) The goal of District 5 Tournament is to go to NEUSAW State. If you are signing up for this tournament, you are signing up with the mindset that you will be attending our NEUSAW State Tournament in Grand Island March 14-16. This tournament is the qualifier for that tournament. All PreK – K division automatically qualify for state. All Girls automatically qualify for state. For Boys divisions 1st grade and up the top 4 of each weight class qualify for state.
b) There is actually weight divisions for this tournament. Please look at the flyer, you must decide on what weight class your child will be wrestling at for this tournament based off their division. Whatever weight class you choose, you MUST make scratch weight with a singlet on the day before the tournament (Saturday).
c) We need volunteers for this tournament to help us out. Don’t worry, it’s not table help we need, that is covered! But we are looking for the following spots to be filled. Please reach out to us so we can get it marked off. If you can only work Session 1 or Session 2, that’s fine! Just let us know and we can make a schedule to make sure we have coverage.
-Concessions. We would like at least 10 people to make it run smoothly.
-Awards Table. We need 4 people for this spot.
-Gate. We need 4 people for this spot.
-Coach’s Band. We need 4 people for this spot.
d) With all of that being said here’s the registration link for District 5, please read over this one as it has extra questions which must be answered:

- NEUSAW State
We’ve mentioned this above but what is this about? NEUSAW State in Grand Island is the culmination of the wrestling season. It’s where the best of the best go to showcase their skills! But enough of us selling it, here’s the important information we’d like to get across about this:
a) This is in Grand Island March 14-16 (Friday through Sunday). Depending on your division you will have to look at the schedule to see when your child will wrestle and decide what day(s) you’ll have to be there.
b) Whatever weight you wrestled at Districts is the weight you HAVE TO wrestle at state. Meaning you must maintain your weight between the 2 weeks between Districts and State. You are unable to change your weight class after that.
c) Accommodations in Grand Island… If your child makes state then travel and hotel is up to the parent to figure out per kid. The Fremont Wrestling Club tries to reserve rooms ahead of time and have a block for kids that make state. But to be honest and upfront, there is never enough rooms for as many people that make it and go to state. This weekend is one of the busiest weekends in Grand Island with every other wrestling club trying to get rooms too. If your child makes state, let us know RIGHT AWAY and we will give you details on the block and our hotel. But don’t be surprised if even if you act fast that rooms are already sold out for our block and just in general. We apologize; we do the best we can.
Any questions let us know
